Bet everyone wishes they bought as much costal land as possible back then 😊
It was a fantastic era to go to the Gold Coast, low crime or juvenile crime/violence . Trim girls& guys, no tats ,fillers, or steroids .Just fun times.
yeah i agree with david armstrong what they did to the old cloud land was so slimey
The tram on the gold coast highway has destroyed the Gold Coast. Politicians working for the new world order. 🪧for lease🪧for lease 🪧for sale 🪧closing down sale. Traffic has no where to go. Soon only one lane each way at Miami on the gold coast highway, absolutely ridiculous and criminal. The place is destroyed
Hasn’t changed a whole lot
My home town. Beautiful!
I am waiting for a talk and real pictures
You guys wouldn't have anything showing the Backpacker Hostel that used to be on Beach Street back in the 90's?
Nah, sorry. I remember the place. Had a look in a collection - wished we thought to take some pics before the site was redeveloped.
Which month was that?
End of April
Back when Australia was populated by real Australians
Another forgotten Champion
Cavill's and the Cecil at Southport. No Gold Coast , Palm Beach , Tugun , Burleigh , or Coolangatta Hotel's. 1 star
I live ther it so butifull😍🥹🥹🥹
Ótima música!
Last time I was there was over 30 years ago. Had changed to much. Sunshine Coast now my favourite holiday destination
Lovely footage, looks a great spot.
thanks. Have you visited the our story about the pool at www.coogeemedia.com.au/ivorowe.htm ?
Lovely footage, I visited it just recently it's so beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks gay as hell. They probably only had iPhone 2 or 3 back then with slow WiFi
You wish....
@@KFBbythesea Horus: A sky god,the son of the sun god, Ra. Horus is the only real God, prove me wrong heathan! Proof i have of this: #1 I read it in a book #2 I have faith and my faith is unbreaking #3 I took alot of drugs and met Horus and he told me that Anubis is the devil
Music is TERRIBLE
Amazing, it's the first time I've seen footage actually taken on Wedding Cake Island, thanks for showing us 👍
Our pleasure!
Wow!!!!
I can thank Beau for paddling out there and taking the video. Gotta encourage him to turn the phone horizontal.
Great singing, love this 🙂
Was that Jimmy Sharman at the Ekka? 🥊
Every time I see images of the Bellevue, it reminds me of what a criminal act - a mongrel act with its demolition unbeknown to the people of Brisbane by the notorious Deen Brothers in the middle of the night in 1979.
Time wasting.
This Guy can also be found down in Fremantle
Fab photos Didn’t know Coogee had beach wharf amazing
Coogee Pier - 1928 to circa 1934, heavily damaged by storms and pulled down. Not a big success
I remember the Tiki village as a child in 1970😅.
I lived there in the seventies, performing in bands, like the Troupadores,in the Gold Coast Hotel, the Chevron and the Playroom.I drove down the Gold Coast Hwy last July for some nostalgia and apart from the traffic crawl,it felt like a different country...the old Surfers Paradise had disappeared under hi-rise concrete and I couldn't wait to get past,to preserve my good memories of living in that area.
The Gold Coast Hotel , Burleigh , Paul & Ann Watt , 1 of only 2 Freehold Hotel's on the whole Goldy. That two man band in their Hotel lounge primed everyone before the Playroom finished them. You're correct , another Planet
This shit won't cover up the abuse up there ,Cowards evry screw there are Cowards
The scenery was spectacular, what a nice boat ride, I'd love to that myself one day. Thankyou for sharing 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it
I holidayed on the GC in the 70s when I was a child and we moved here in 83 when I was a teenager. I couldn’t of asked for a better place to grow up! It’s still a place I love but developers have taken down so many iconic places I once enjoyed. I suppose ‘that’s progress’!
My back yard! The good old days. Love Goldie.
at 2:51 - Rome in Queensland. I've never seen such an image. thanks.
I got infected by HIV AIDS from a needle behind the mermaid murial also the hotels here are incredibly rude
What was the population of Brisbane in 1940?
about 340,000 people
@@CoogeeMedia Thanks. Incidentally I live in a small village in England where the population probably hasn't changed for hundreds of years. Slightly different to Brisbane.
@@ajs41 Mmm, Brisbane is slow growth compared to the march of urbanisation around the world ....a 10 plus million city is now commonplace.
About one million US soldiers arrived in Australia , during WWII . A lot were in Brisbane.
I love the pics thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for support of us.

I hate going into the Brisbane Central Business District these days. Even on a bright sunny day the streets are gloomy in the shadows of buildings. It used to be so bright, airy and sunny up to the late 1970's, but now ... BLECHHHH. When I was married in 1983 I lived for a short while in Spring Hill. You won't believe the amount of noise there was at night from all the air conditioning units on all the buildings. What price progress?
Me too 😂🎉

There was a sign of the KIMDO restaurant which was owed by one of my friends parents when we went to surfers paradise state school, and it was the best Chinese food on the coast in the early 70s.
You didn't mention the dolphin pool at tweed sea life attraction I forgot what they called it
